Sandhill Small Lots Sangiovese, Okanagan BC, 2005
Readers rated this wine:
In a recent seminarium, we tasted this Sangiovese side-by-side with some of the great Chianti's of Tuscany - it held its ground. But to compare a Sangiovese from Italy with one from BC or Argentina or California for that matter is unfair. As its own wine, it is very tasty, balanced with bright acidity and sweet aromas of cherries, dark flowers, earthy/foresty notes and undertones of leather and vanilla. It has layered flavours on the palate, fresh red cherry/berry fruit, cocoa, coffee, oak spices and a peppery finish.
85% Sangiovese, 11% Barbera, 4% Merlot
