Approachable, smooth, savoury.
Part of the VSPT wine group out of Chile, this new La Celia offers aromas of blackberries, vanilla, mocha and spice. It's savoury, salty with smoked spices and a glycerol/slick texture. Smooth and succulent and well constructed.

Part of the VSPT Wine Group out of Chile, this new La Celia Reserva offers value from an historic estate, which was established in 1890.
An interesting blend that works, it has an earthy core and is lifted by wild berries and bay leaf, and layered with peppery spices and mocha.It has fruit suppleness and a slick glycerol texture. The tannins are silty and the fleshy body reveals flavours of dried herbs, fleur de sel, espresso and dark cocoa.
It's a solid everyday dinner red.

Leyda 'Lot 21' Pinot Noir, Leyda Valley, Chile

Leyda falls under the umbrella of VSPT (Vina San Pedro Tarapaca), which consists of several labels across six Chilean and two Argentine wineries. VSPT is the second largest wine exporter in Chile (Gato Negro accounts for the vast quantity of that) and in the top three fine wine producers in the country. The first winery, San Pedro was established in 1865, which the label of the same name plays homage to.
VSPT established the cool climate wine growing region of Leyda (named for the nearby town) 20 years ago and are one of only a few producers there still.
Pinot Noir is a specialty of the house (Leyda has seven clones planted), it's proximity to the cooling Humbolt current off the Pacific and limestone, granite and clay soils are perfectly suited to the variety.
Expect pretty wild strawberry, raspberry, plush cocoa, vanilla, violets and star anise aromas. It's a supple wine with lifted fruit flavours layered with tealeaf, fine spice and hints of balsamic. Complex and lengthy with a powerful finish.

Leyda 'Single Vineyard Garuma' Sauvignon Blanc, Leyda Valley, Chile

Sauvignon Blanc is a speciality of the house and this lifted and snappy version hits the sweet spot. Classic gooseberry and green apples, elderflower, honey and grass clippings aromas lead to a clean and crunchy palate with lovely weight, concentration and a creamy but mouthwatering finish.

Sauvignon Gris is a mutation of Sauvignon Blanc and this one is VERDANT. Cat pee and snap peas, jalapeno and grass clippings, lime, green apples, honey and white peach aromas lead to a crunchy yet creamy wine with oodles of grapefruit pith and jalapeno - the finish is hot.
This wine is what they call aji verde in Chile.
