Chateau Dereszla Furmint, Tokaji, Hungary
Readers rated this wine:
Singular, slick, precise.
Made from Furmint (known primarily for producing the historical sweet Tokaji dessert wines from northeast Hungary), blended with a splash of portion of Muskotaly grapes, this dry (szaraz) table wine comes from the Dereszla Winery, home to one of the oldest cellars in the Tokaj region.
It's amazing value and a singular bottle; the 2021 is mineral-driven--think crushed stone and mountain stream along with burnt honey and bold lemony notes. It has a similar palate--tangy and mineral focused with precision and snap. It's bone dry with some phenolic texture in the mouth; the finish is lemony.

It's amazing value and a singular bottle; expect fleshy yellow fruits and almonds, honey and Meyer lemons, wildflowers after the rain and vague savoury undertones. The palate is juicy with notable purity of fruit and a slick entry. It's a delightful wine, beautifully constructed, with a mouthwatering and textural nutty finish.
Amazing value!

Chateau Dereszla Furmint, Tokaji, Hungary
Readers rated this wine:
Singular, slick, racy.
Made from Furmint (known primarily for producing the historical sweet Tokaji dessert wines from northeast Hungary), blended with a splash of 13% Muskotaly grapes, this dry (szaraz) table wine comes from the Dereszla Winery, home to one of the oldest cellars in the Tokaj region.
Kaffir lime and straw flower aromas are layered with wet stone cape gooseberry, crunchy nectarine, star fruit and wet stone. It has a juicy palate with racy acidity and distinct mineral and citrus flavours. Taut and ever so slightly smoky it has a slick texture and savoury undertones.
It has a strong Albarino character.

Singular, slick, levity.

Despite having no oak contact, it has a creaminess and a character best expressed with grilled lemons and yellow apples and Bosc pears, honey and dried wildflowers with mineral undertones. It has a slick texture and bouncy stone fruit and lemongrass flavours on the palate.
Levity and length; wonderfully unique with impressive value.
