Aldegheri 'Dindarella' Valpolicella, Veneto Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Rustic, traditional, unique.
Family owned since 1956, Cantine Aldegheri is 50 hectares of vineyards, and a winery located in Sant' Ambrogio di Valpolicella.
Using mainly the indigenous local varieties Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, they also have plantings of Dindarella, Cabernet, Merlot, Garganega and Pinot.
Dindarella is a lesser-known Veronese variety of the region with characteristics closer to Rondinella than Corvina and Corvinone.
Aldegheri presents this rare 100% varietal, which has strong rustic tones; small red berries and sour cherry, brown spice and tobacco aromas lead to a juicy palate. While silky, it also has a wild child character, forest fruit, botanical, cocoa, and bitter coffee ground flavours trail on the finish. A unique experience, and a wine that will welcome a slight chill.

Aldegheri 'Mondello' Soave Classico, Veneto Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Slick, concentrated, singular.
Made by the Valpolicella-based Aldegheri, this white made from Garganega, Trebbiano di Soave and Chardonnay grapes grown in the Soave DOC of Veneto only sees stainless steel and it went through a secondary malolactic fermentation.
Notes of oyster shell and green almonds, pine resin and beeswax, yellow apples and grapefruit pith are released. Similarly slick and resinous in the mouth it has tart citrus and mineral flavours and notable marzipan flavours across the finish.
Pair with gnocchi and creamy risottos, fish and rich cheeses.

Aldegheri 'Santambrogio' Ripasso Classico Superiore, Valpolicella, Veneto Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Rustic, fresh, cherries.
Cherry aromas are muddled with leather, dried plum, spice and mocha, notes echoed on the palate. Dried cherries, juicy forest berries and vanilla, earth and spice flavours dominate the palate. Lovely freshness here, a Ripasso on the leaner more traditional side with classic rustic character and bitter medium-length finish.

Aldegheri Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, Sant'Ambrogio Veneto Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Opulent, traditional, fresh.
This wine was long cellared post bottling in cellar for three years before release.
Expect an earthy wine with fresh and dried cherries, balsamico, crushed roses and pipe tobacco, shaved chocolate, espresso, brown spices, wet cedar and clay aromas. It boasts a sweet and generous entry and liqueur-like character. The dried cherries are more pronounced in the mouth, it is fleshy and classic with a slick texture and long fresh finish.
A gorgeous wine.

Cherry and balsamic aromas are woven with opulent chocolate liqueur spice and faint herbal undertones. Dried fruits, espresso, chocolate savoury spice and herbal flavours mimic the nose. It has a port-like concentration but plenty of acidity to maintain freshness. Lengthy and potent, it's a gorgeous wine.
