Escorihuela '1884' Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Mendoza Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Woven, fragrant, supple.
The entire Escorihuela 1884 series offer great value.
This 2021 Cabernet is no exception; it doles out cherries and chocolate, violets and licorice, cloves, anise and cinnamon and pipe tobacco. It's a supple and delicious wine; intensely concentrated and woven yet approachable and full of substance. One of the best vintages of this Cabernet I can recall.
It's a solid partner for game meats, roasted wild mushrooms, aged cheeses and BBQ.

Readers rated this wine:
Balanced, expressive, fragrant.
Always a vibrant Cabernet, the 1884 offers high-toned cassis and dried roses, sarsaparilla and raspberry tea with baking spices and vanilla at the core. Expressive and buoyant on the palate, it has bright fruit layered with tobacco and graphite. Good persistence; a delicious red.

Escorihuela '1884' Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Mendoza Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Flamboyant, fragrant, youthful.
The entire Escorihuela 1884 series has seen a facelift, the new label is more elegant, but not a huge departure from previous vintages.
The Cabernet is always a standout and the flamboyant 2019 delivers lifted purple berries, cassis and warm vanilla aromas layered with pipe tobacco, baking spice, graphite and saddle leather. Fresh red fruit, cocoa and savoury herbs are suggested in the mouth; smooth overall, but there are some youthful tannins on the finish that should soften.
A solid partner for game meats, roasted wild mushrooms, aged cheeses and BBQ.
