Aldegheri Custoza 'La Rune', Veneto Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Slick, concentrated, singular.
Made by the Valpolicella-based Aldegheri, this white made from Garganega, Trebbiano di Soave and Chardonnay grapes grown in the Soave DOC of Veneto only sees stainless steel and it went through a secondary malolactic fermentation.
Notes of oyster shell and green almonds, pine resin and beeswax, yellow apples and grapefruit pith are released. Similarly slick and resinous in the mouth it has tart citrus and mineral flavours and notable marzipan flavours across the finish.
Pair with gnocchi and creamy risottos, fish and rich cheeses.

Aureliano Rosado, Salento, Puglia, Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Value, spice, cherries.
Made by 10International, a company making wine in Argentina, Australian, Spain, New Zealand, Chile, Italy and the USA among others, the Aureliano brand comes from the Salento Peninsula in Puglia. This rosato is negroamaro with 5% Malvasia Nera and is offered in the value category.
It's a rusty ruby shade and offers aromas of cherry jelly, wild forest berries, cedar chips and fine spice along with tobacco. It enters the palate with off-dry flavours of muddled cherries, charred cedar, toasted spice ad vanilla liqueur. Slightly oxidative, it finishes dry.

Balthasar Ress Hattenheimer Schutzenhaus Riesling, Rheingau Germany
Readers rated this wine:

Balthasar Ress' Hattenheimer Schutzenhaus is a wonderfully balanced and mouthwatering Riesling with great finesse.
Aromas of mineral (notably slate) lemon drops and honeysuckle with, apricot jelly and marmalade with earthy undertones. It is undeniably complex - expect layers of peach, green apple and wild honey with a racy marmalade finish. It has fantastic persistence and its residual sweetness is cleansed by brisk acidity.
A perfect wine for holiday dinners, which include ham, turkey, stuffing and mashed sweet potatoes...
