Mt. Boucherie Blaufrankisch, Similkameen Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Juicy, spicy, intriguing.
Mt. Boucherie owns vineyards across the Okanagan, and in the Similkameen Valley. Coming from the Lazy River Vineyard in the Similkameen, near Cawston, this Blaufrankisch (aka Lemberger) is indeed a rare variety, one which is dark skinned, late ripening and tannic, and is said to have come from Slovenia.
It has grapey aromas woven with red berries and cedar, forest floor, vanilla and rum toddy undertones. The palate is juicy and fruity with notable spiced flavours. Fresh, approachable and intriguing; a wine with good length that well-suited to a slight chill down.

Juicy, spicy, intriguing.
Mt. Boucherie owns vineyards across the Okanagan, and in the Similkameen Valley. Coming from the southern Similkameen , near Cawston, Blaufrankisch (aka Lemberger) is indeed a rare variety, one which is dark skinned, late ripening and tannic, and is said to have come from Slovenia.
It's a spicy wine; aromas of wild berries, cedar, tobacco and white pepper lead to a supple palate with juicy berries and a wild character. Most notable is its freshness. An intriguing wine with good length that well-suited to a slight chill down.

Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery 'Contessa', British Columbia
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, outstanding, opulent.
Born of the best barrels from the best plots of estate vineyards in the Okanagan and Similkameen valleys, Mt. Boucherie's pinnacle wine called Contessa is a blend of Merlot (38%), Syrah (32%), Cab Franc (23%), Zinfandel (5%) and Malbec (2%). It was aged in French, American and Hungarian oak barrels for 22 months; 30% new.
It's an outstanding and opulent wine inky and intense and very Amarone-like. Expect dried strawberries and cherries, plum cake and licorice, velvety chocolate and vanilla liqueur aromas. The freshness here is notable despite it being a wine with structure and power. Flavours on the palate echo the nose and it has a lengthy finish trailing cocoa powder, leather and tobacco.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Canadian Chedder & Chive
