Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery 'Summit', British Columbia
Readers rated this wine:
Born of three vineyards in the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys, this blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Malbec was aged in oak barrel for 24 months (35% new).
Spicy, meaty and herbal tones are lifted with aromas of cassis, cherries, mocha, vanilla and licorice. It is a supple and balanced wine with generous fruit and notable spiciness on the palate. The finish is medium-long and trails smoky, herbal and espresso flavours.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Canadian Chedder & Chive

Readers rated this wine:
Seductive, complete, opulent.
Born of three vineyards in the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Malbec were aged separately in French oak barrel for 13 months before blending into the Summit. The blend was then aged an additional 11 months for a total of two years.
In my opinion, 2018 is the best Summit so far. An opulent red showcasing rich chocolate, black cherry, ribena, vanilla liqueur and concord grape aromas along with licorice, crushed purple flowers and a sprig of mint. Profound and powerful yet seductively woven; there are no sharp edges here just balanced beauty. Supple in weight the palate echoes the nose with black fruits, vanilla, leather and toasted brown spices. A complete red, with sweet tannins lounging on a smooth lengthy finish.

Maturity, balanced, smooth.

The blend was then aged an additional 11 months for a total of two years.
It shows some maturity; fleshy plum aromas are rounded out with sweet cherry, cedar chips, baking spices and vanilla, pipe tobacco and earth. It's a balanced red with notable freshness and a firm but smooth palate. Expect a structured red with forest berry, brown spice, grilled plums, tealeaf and mocha flavours.

It has a plush nose of sweet black fruit, vanilla, baking spiced and cedar chips, mocha, licorice, cloves and molasses, with a hint of soy sauce. Intense, slick and weighty, it has thick flavours of chocolate, espresso, spice and black fruit. Potent, extracted and muscular with a long finish--it's a wine with purpose.

Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery Merlot, British Columbia
Readers rated this wine:
Sweet, smooth, vibrant.
The grapes that make this Merlot come from the Similkameen, Okanagan Falls and the Black Sage Bench. It was aged for six months in French and American oak (25% new and 75% neutral). Plush notes of plum cake and pan seared cherries are woven with baking spices, licorice, vanilla, mocha and a fine sprinkling of white pepper. It's a supple and vibrant red with a chewy mi-palate which culminates in a smooth finish trailing pipe tobacco, mocha and sweet spice flavours. Balanced and tasty.
