Bodega Sierra Norte 'Pasion de Bobal' Rose, Utiel~Requena Spain
Readers rated this wine:
Floral, fresh, approachable.
A pale rose the color of onion skin, this fresh wine offers peach stone and sunwarmed berries, dried violets and cedar chips aromas, which are grounded with a fresh mountain stream/mineral note. It is brightly lifted, tangy and medium-bodied. An easy style, approachable and quaffable.
Made from one of Spain's glorious almost lost varieties, Bobal.

Readers rated this wine:
Robust, creamy, rustic.
Adorned in yet another Gil Family Estate's stunning labels, this Verdejo shows aromas of peaches and yellow apples, lemons and straw flowers with strong undertones of barnyard. It has effusive citrus in the mouth with layers of wild herbs. Creamy in weight, it is a robust and straightforward white with rustic tendencies.

Supple generous, delicious.
Adorned in yet another Gil Family Estate's stunning labels, this Garnacha is strawberry jam, violets, sarsaparilla, espresso and baking spices. Equally plush on the palate it has an impressive generosity; mocha, purple fruits, vanilla liqueur and licorice. Supple yet fresh and undeniably delicious.

Bodegas Juan Gil 'Silver Label' Monastrell, Jumilla Spain
Readers rated this wine:
Fragrant supple, fresh.
Made from an old vine parcel of Monastrell, this wine spent 12 months in (primarily) French oak barrels.
Redolent in chocolate and black raspberry and brown spices, dusty plums and earthy wild herbal tones it is equally inviting on the palate. Fresh purple berries, licorice, chocolate and pipe tobacco with savoury smoked meats and toasted spice.
Bold and chewy but overall amazing structure and freshness.

Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva, Tuscany, Italy
Readers rated this wine:
The Riserva tier is the second highest level of Chianti Classico wines after Gran Selezione. This one, from Carpineto comes from estate Sangiovese and Canaiolo vines; it was aged in casks and barrels for one year, then left to age in bottle for at least ten more months in cellar.
Notes of strawberry and cedar chips are woven with rose petals and vanilla, rosemary, pipe tobacco, star anise and cherries. It has a supple entry and sweet expressive fruit flavours alongside leather dusted with cocoa. Lovely acidity and structure, it has a silky texture and chalky tannins. Lengthy and beautifully woven.
