Osoyoos Larose Petales d'Osoyoos , Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Succulent, spicy, earthy.
The little brother to Le Grand Vin is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec & Petit Verdot.
As is classic to this estate, the wine is earthy and savoury offering forest berries, cocoa, leather, burnt toffee, mint, soy sauce and pencil shavings on the nose. Molasses, soy sauce, cocoa, toasted spice and brooding berry flavours dominate the palate. Good overall length, structure and balance.
Pair: Grilled or roasted meats, stews, puy lentils with savoury herbs, aged hard cheeses.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Canadian Chedder & Chive

Second review: November 19, 2020.
Spices muddled with black cherry and currents, sage and dusty earth, tobacco, espresso and bittersweet cocoa dominate the nose. It has a chewiness on the palate with black fruit, espresso, dark chocolate and brown spices. Muscular but fresh.

Succulent, spicy, muscular.
The little brother to Le Grand Vin is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec & Petit Verdot.
Consistently savoury, this vintage seems to be more lifted; it offers dried herbs and a combination of sweet and peppery spices, tealeaf and cedar chips, violets, vanilla and wild berries on the nose. Supple on the entry it has espresso, dark chocolate, tobacco and roasted meat flavours that lead to a long and fresh finish.

Expect roasted rosemary, dried herbs, warm plum compote and toasted spices with dark chocolate and flame charred bell peppers aromas. It is smooth and woven; the succulent palate is an echo of the nose. Roasted spice and rich black fruit, pipe tobacco and cocoa flavours linger on a medium-length finish. A muscular wine with the same brooding lineage as big brother.

Ravenswood 'Besieged', Sonoma Country Calidornia
Readers rated this wine:
Supple, potent, fresh.
This limited release Ravenswood red is a unique blend of: Petite Sirah, Carignane, Zinfandel, Syrah, Barbera, Alicante Bouschet and Mourvedre. If you're a fan of the Ravenswood style, this one will procure your stamp of approval.
An opulent nose of fruitcake and violets, raspberry, cherries jubilee, mocha and sarsaparilla leads to a supple and generously fruited palate. It has textural tannins to add substance but good overall freshness to keep it from being a jam-bomb. Lengthy and potent.
