Saintsbury Pinot Noir, Carneros California, 2005
Readers rated this wine:
Saintsbury has been a well respected producer of Pinot Noir for 25 years in California, and this vintage doesn't fail to impress. Although still young, it shows juicy raspberry and sour cherry aromas, violets, vanilla, sweet smoky spices and roasted coffee notes. On the palate it's fresh and silky on the entry, grows chewier mid-palate with fine, youthful tannins--tobacco and peppery spices on the finish.
Wonderful now but with benefit greatly with age.
