Hillside Estate Cabernet Franc, Okanagan Valley BC, 2007
Readers rated this wine:
Hillside puts out a good effort of this often hard-to-love (and often underripe tasting) variety with aromas of bright red currents, wild herbs, vanilla and hints of crushed dark flowers. The same red fruits that appear on the nose are juicy on the palate jighlighted with a core of cigarbox and fine spice flavours. It is medium-bodied with tobacco and coffee bean flavours lingering on the finish. Hillside suggests pairing this wine with duck or venison, I think a red sauce would work nicely too.
