Golden Mile Cellars Pinot Noir, Okanagan BC, 2006
Readers rated this wine:
The grapes for the 2006 Pinot Noir were harvested from both Cawston (Similkameen) and from Black Sage near Oliver.
The wine is a dusty cherry colour and purely masculine in style with aromas of maraschino cherries, darkly toasted oak, smoke and leather. It's velvety texture rolls across your palate with a smooth weight and it's flavoured with red berry and cherry, spiced oak, a hint of greenery and more toast. The tannins are present but not overwhelming, the price agreeable.
Hearty food pairings required--meat, duck, roasted mushrooms and grilled dishes.
