Grosset-Hill Smith Mesh Riesling, Eden Valley Australia, 2007
Readers rated this wine:
Eden Valley is a stunning a sub-appellation of the much warmer Barossa Valley and sits high above the Barossa floor. It produces not only exceptional Rieslings like the Mesh but many other elegant wines.
Taut as piano wire with aromas of petrol (the Aussies prefer the term marmalade), lemon drops and loads of minerality with a shave of lime zest. It pops with snappy lime and steely minerality on the palate, it has a weighted, slightly oily texture and a lip-smacking finish.
Serve with frites dipped in garlic lemon aioli or light fish dishes.
