Porta Di Mola "Yellow Cello", Campania Italy, 2005
Readers rated this wine:
A beautiful and exotic wine that is work seeking!
Made from a grape that was revered by the Greeks and Romans--called Falanghina--this wine is a bit of an anomoly. Rich and quite unctuous as opposed to its more usual crisp style with honied, earthy (truffled) and mineral aromas with mandarin orange, ripe melon and beeswax notes. On the palate it is lush and smooth--almost oily with soft, exotic spice and clean on the finish. Dry and fresh but with the perception of ripe fruit sweetness.
