Harper's Trail 'Silver Mane Block' Riesling, British Columbia
Readers rated this wine:
Honeyed, fragrant, crunchy.

Harper's Trail is one of only a handful of wineries pioneering the Kamloops wine region along the South Thompson River. Owned by Ed and Vicki Collett, who have used winemaker Michael Bartier as a consultant since day one, Harper's Trail now has their own winery and has large expansion plans for the next decade or so.
Their estate is home to highly regarded limestone soils, which are responsible for making some of the world's greatest wines.
A consistently tasty Riesling, offering of honey and apricot, green apple, lime and oyster shell. The palate is an echo of the nose; tangy lime and crunchy peaches with a honeyed, oily weight and good concentration.

Harper's Trail 'Thadd Springs Vineyard' Cabernet Franc, Thompson Valley, British Columbia
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, velvety, earthy.
Harper's Trail is the pioneer of the Thompson Valley wine region and have contributed greatly to the expansion of the BC wine industry and emerging regions.
Expect velvety aromas of wild red berries and chocolate cherries, vanilla, star anise, apple peel and green bell pepper notes. It's fresh and earthy with flavours of peppery spices, bacon and wild red berries. It has good bones and cocoa textured tannins. A wine with an excellent sense of place that will actually benefit from a slight chill.

Harper's Trail 'Thadd Springs Vineyard' Chardonnay Sparkling, British Columbia
Readers rated this wine:
Toasty, bold, focused.
Pioneering outside of the Okanagan Valley in Kamloops, Harper’s Trail is named for another upstart, cattle drive rancher, Thaddeus Harper. Winemaker Michael Bartier has been consulting on the project since day one.
Lees and heavily autolytic aromas are layered with apple sauce, toasted brioche and grilled lemons. The palate is pristine and juicy; acidity carves out a creamy wedge. Bold and focused and great value.

This is a wonderfully fresh wine with melon and golden fruits, honey and spring blossoms with smoky toasted spice. It is tangy on the palate with excellent weight and generous fruit.
Pair: halibut rolled in almonds, pasta in cream sauces, roast chicken or turkey, smoked gouda grilled cheese.
