Barone di Valforte

Abruzzi

Barone di Valforte Pecorino, Abbruzzo, Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Slick, citrusy, charming.
A white variety most commonly found in central Italy, and especially Abruzzo and Marche, Pecorino leans toward yellow fruit and floral aromas. The Valforte shows crunchy golden tree fruits, honey and acacia, green almonds and star fruit, wet stone and hints of earth and wild mushrooms. Its palate is woven and slick with an oiliness and impressive weight--a balanced white trailing tart citrus flavours that will shine with salty snacks like almonds and olives, creamy lemony sauces and dressings, fish and tangy goat or sheep milk cheeses.

Readers rated this wine:
<Pristine, elegant, lively.
A white variety most commonly found in central Italy, and especially Abruzzo and Marche, Pecorino leans toward yellow fruit and floral aromas. The 2020 version doles out notes of lemongrass and wet stone, talcum and crunchy tree fruits layered with honeycomb. It's dry with a pristine character and flavours of white peach, lemon and minerals. It's a wine that is both elegant and lively.
Pair with salty snacks like almonds and olives, creamy lemony sauces and dressings, fish and tangy goat or sheep milk cheeses.
