Play Estate Winery Gewurztraminer, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Refreshing, exotic, drier.
Having undergone a packaging makeover, Play wines are looking much more svelte these days.
The winery itself is outside of Penticton on Skaha Hills Drive and boasts some outstanding views from the winery and bistro. On this Gew, expect notes of lychee and peach nectar, rose water and lime, exotic spice and ginger lead to a drier palate balanced with acidity and flavoured with orange blossoms, crunchy stone fruits, honey and spice. Not an over-the-top style, it has a refreshing delicacy. Pairs Great with Gone Crackers Roasted Shallot & Herb ©copyright 2021 Daenna Van Mulligen

Dry, pristine, fresh.
Having undergone a packaging makeover, Play's wine labels are looking quite lighthearted these days.
The winery itself is outside of Penticton on Skaha Hills Drive and boasts some outstanding views from the winery and bistro.
This pink, made I suspect entirely of Syrah, is a pale peachy-pink with appealing notes of wild berries, sweet summer fruits, peach stone, vanilla and smoked peppery spices. Fresh and pristine it's a dry rose with good length, heft and sooty tannins. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen
