Bartier Bros. Merlot, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, smooth, genuine.
Grown on the Black Sage gravel bar in Bartier's estate Cerqueira vineyard, this fresh Merlot doesn't resemble so many of the over-oaked versions the Okanagan used to be known for. Aromas are of spiced plums and blackberries, dark chocolate, charred cedar, vanilla and sage with a hint of marzipan. Expect classic Merlot mid-palate roundness; it's a fresh and smooth wine that trails espresso, brown spices, coffee and dark cocoa flavours.
An honest red with a sense of place.
Pair: Anything you can throw on the grill or a nice round of brie cheese.

Fresh, textural, savoury.
Grown on the Black Sage gravel bar in Bartier's estate Cerqueira vineyard, the 2021 Merlot spent 15 months in neutral French oak before bottling.

Bartier Bros. Merlot, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, supple, genuine.
Grown on the Black Sage gravel bar in the Cerqueira vineyard, the BB Merlot is an outstanding composition of plums and black cherries, leather, mocha and pipe tobacco aromas. It is supple with lifted freshness. A stylish Merlot, left to express itself rather than being tamed with over-ripeness and oak.
Pair: anything throw on the grill - pizza, burgers, ribs or tangy wings and chili.

Bartier Bros. Merlot, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, pretty, honest.
Grown on the Black Sage gravel bar in Bartier's estate Cerqueira vineyard, once again, this fresh Merlot doesn't resemble so many of the over-oaked versions the Okanagan has been known for.
A pretty nose offers black raspberry and juicy plums, violets, pipe tobacco, vanilla and sweet spice aromas. It's medium+ bodied, smooth and juicy with fine tannins; the levity here is notable. An honest Merlot that's a delight to drink.
Pair: Anything you can throw on the grill or a nice round of brie cheese.

Bartier Bros. Muscat, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Charming, juicy, divine.
Divine and dry, Michael Bartier's 100% Muscat Ottonel was grown in Summerland on sandy loam topsoil with sandy silt subsoils, it was whole cluster fermented, and aged in stainless for six months.
It has a lively nose of lemon-lime woven with crunchy stone fruits, wildflower talc, white grapes and honey. Gentle on the entry is grows racier mid-palate and leads to a lip-smacking finish. Juicy and precise, this is singular and charming white.
