Bodega El Porvenir Bonarda, Cafayate, Salta, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Juicy, joyful, bouncy.
The family vineyards of El Porvenir are located around 5,700 feet above sea level in Tolombon very near Cafayate. The winery was established four decades ago by winery director Lucia Romero-Marcuzzi's grandfather Roberto Romero.
Planted with Tannat and Torrontes (vines now 55 years old) the estate was expanded two decades ago with the addition Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Bonarda.
This 100% Bonarda is a juicy light-bodied red that deserves a chill before serving. A workhorse grape, that was common before Malbec took off, Bonarda is generally used as a blending berry. Grapey aromas are layered with wild cherry, vanilla, and vague notes of earth, fine spice, cocoa and herbs. Light-medium bodied it has a bouncy character and joyful red fruit flavours.

Cellars Baronia 'Englora', Montsant, Spain
Readers rated this wine:
Pretty, structured, supple.
The Englora wines come from the Catalunya region of Spain near Barcelona and this Garnacha, Carignan, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon spent 10 months aging in barrel and then nearly a decade in bottle.
Expect a pretty nose; iodine and purple flowers, violets and licorice, cola spices and cedar chips. It is supple, and fresh, has notable structure and balance. It's medium-to-full bodied with a pleasant bitterness and the finish lingers with espresso.

Cellars Baronia Clos d'Englora 'AV14', Montsant, Spain
Readers rated this wine:
The d'Englora wiines come from the Catalunya region of Spain near Barcelona, this Garnacha, Carignan, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon spent 14 months aging in barrel and then nearly a decade in bottle.
It is a magnificent wine with pretty aromas of violets and rose petals, licorice and cedar chips, raspberries and cherries. Still fresh, and spicy, it has wonderful levity and fine but textural tannins that add chewiness on the palate. Lengthy and complex.

Fragrant, juicy, youthful.
One of two stunning new additions to our shelves from the Catalunya region of Spain near Barcelona, this Garnacha doles out spicy cherries, strawberry twizzlers, vanilla and roses and tea. It is a pretty wine with good freshness and youthful, juicy red fruit, fine dusty tannins and a medium-length finish.
