Tinto Negro 'Finca La Escuela' Malbec, Altamira, Mendoza, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Buoyant, generous, supple.
TintoNegro black wine was born of the long time friendship and professional collaboration of Alejandro Sejanovich and Jeff Mausbach. The two were colleagues at Bodega Catena Zapata for almost 15 years; Alejandro was vineyard director and Jeff was the wine education director.
This wine was aged 12 months in French oak (20% new).
It's a brutish bottle, heavy and statuesque. Inside, expect an impressive wine with aromas of purple and black berries, smoked spices, vanilla, espresso, violets and pipe tobacco. It is a supple wine with a generosity of vivid fruit. Youthful (still) and buoyant with smooth tannins, and a lingering licorice and chocolate finish.

Readers rated this wine:
Mature, balanced, supple.
Showing some age, this wine offers dried figs and dried cherries, which are woven with blackberry, vanilla, espresso and brown spices. It is supple with a silky and glycerol (port-like) texture and weight. The palate mimics the nose with dried fruits alongside spices and savoury flavours. A balanced wine with a sensual character.

Tinto Negro Malbec, Luyan de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Spicy, savoury, supple.
TintoNegro black wine was born of the long time friendship and professional collaboration of Alejandro Sejanovich and Jeff Mausbach. The two were colleagues at Bodega Catena Zapata for almost 15 years; Alejandro was vineyard director and Jeff was the wine education director.
This wine was aged three months neutral French oak.
It is spicy and earthy, with layered with espresso, bittersweet chocolate, tobacco, grilled herbs, leather and wild blackberry aromas. It is supple, has a glycerol weight and flavours of saline, cocoa and coffee. Straightforward and notably savoury, it's a wine made for grilled foods.

Vinaceous 'Raconteur' Cabernet Sauvignon, Barossa Valley South Australia, 2009
Readers rated this wine:

Both the name and the colourfully clad storyteller depicted on the label gives you a solid sense of the character of this wine. It doesn't disappoint; launching with plump black cherry, black current, vanilla liqueur and toasted spice aromas. The palate follows suit, offering plush black and purple fruit, baking spice and licorice flavours, which culminate in a chocolaty finish. It's full'bodied, has impressive intensity and a powdery texture.
A wine for barbecuing, hearty winter dishes or hard cheeses.
