Golden Mile Bench

Tinhorn Creek Gewurztraminer, Golden Mile Bench, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Delightful, perfumed, potent.
Expect a delightfully classic Gewurztraminer character - Tinhorn's version is consistently expressive and perfumed.
Notes of rose oil and lychee, orange blossom water and exotic spices, mango and freshly peeled ginger demand attention. Equally decadent on the palate; it is potent and concentrated, reminiscent of its Alsatian counterparts. Excellent balance and a lengthy zesty finish.
Pair with holiday turkey, exotic fare, dishes with a bit of chili pepper heat or warm Munster cheese.

Readers rated this wine:

Another excellent vintage for Tinhorn Creek's Gewurztraminer - I love the crisp and fragrant style.
The 2012 leads with lychee and rose-scented cold cream, exotic spice and a spritz each of tangerine oil and pink grapefruit. It boldly walks the line between crisp and slick (an almost oily texture). It has a whisper of sweetness that underscores the tropical fruit, sweet spice and lengthy grapefruity finish. Lovely concentration and freshness.
Perfect for pairing with lightly spiced dishes such as chilled noodle salads or pork, turkey, ceviche or an Alsatian onion tart.

Fragrant, perfumed, concentrated.
Interesting enough, this wine has been labelled Golden Mile Bench since the Golden Mile sub-GI was designated in 2015, yet for the 2017, it's not.
Notes of rose scented soap, orange blossoms, exotic spices and tropical fruits. The palate is just as concentrated and exotic as the nose, the finish lingers with creamed peaches and spice on the finish.

Pair with holiday turkey, exotic fare, dishes with a bit of chili pepper heat or warm Munster cheese.

Tinhorn Creek Merlot, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Earthy, balanced, fragrant.
This Merlot was cellared for 12 months in oak barrels before bottling.
Cherry and black raspberry aromas mingle with vanilla, licorice and baking spices. It's more restrained on the palate; earthy notes, dusty plums, spice and tealeaf flavours linger on the finish. Good balance, a well-constructed wine.
Pair:: Beef, lamb, hearty pastas, stews, gourmet thin-crust pizzas

Readers rated this wine:
Even better than the 2009 vintage. Expect aromas of spiced plums, vanilla, dusty saddle leather, fresh savoury hebs and smoky undertones. The palate is smooth and is an echo of the aromas. Good length on the finish and it trails licorice root and sweet spice flavours.
Recommended Pairings: Beef, lamb, hearty pastas, stews, gourmet thin-crust pizzas
