Tinhorn Creek 'Oldfield Reserve' Merlot, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Pastiche, luxurious, succulent.
Formerly the Oldfield Series the new nomenclature of this range is Oldfield Reserve, the label colour has also morphed to a warm taupe-brown (no image available). Along with the Merlot as its key component, there is 15% Cabernet Franc.
This vintage of the reserve Merlot is a pastiche of plums muddled with black cherry, star anise and mocha, dried roses and botanical, cedar chips and leather. Generous, luxurious and chocolaty it is mouthfilling and succulent. Great balance and equally chic.
Pair: beef, lamb, hearty pastas, stews.

Tinhorn Creek 'Oldfield Reserve' Pinot Noir, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Spicy, earthy, balanced
Formerly the Oldfield Series the reserve tier now has a new label look (image shown is of the Syrah, but the label is identical). Made entirely from estate Pinot that was aged 18 months in French oak barrels, this 2014 offers spicy red fruits, forest floor/compost and leather. The wild red fruits, peppery spices and tealeaf flavours are balanced with acid and integrated tannins.
Pair: Grilled wild salmon, roast beef, slow cooked beef brisket or a caramelized onion and wild mushroom pizza.
The new label on this wine is not depicted in the attached photo.

Tinhorn Creek 'Oldfield Reserve' Rose, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Levity, zesty, spunky.
Cabernet Franc is a Tinhorn Creek flagship grape, they excel with the variety so why not use it to make rose.
The 2020 was pressed after 24 hours of skin contact with the juice, which is why this vintage has a bolder hue (the image shown does not portray the actual colour).
This vintage the colour leans ruby, with brick undertones, and the nose delights with pink grapefruit, black currents, orange zest and honey along with a suggestion of strawberry bubblegum and peach pit. It's got spunk and personality. The palate has levity and flavours of wild berries, tealeaf and citrus peel. It's also slick and has muscle on the finish.
Pair:pastas or pizza, veggies burgers, cheese and charcuterie, grilled fish.

Tinhorn Creek 'Oldfield Series' Cabernet Franc, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, stylish, mature.
Expect fresh and spicy aromas with currants, roasted bell peppers, licorice, mocha, vanilla and dried herbs. It is getting some secondary characters that come with age. Earthy and again spicy on the palate as well; it is still quite fresh with tobacco flavours holding tight. The tannins have benefitted from some bottle and barrel maturing.
Pair:hearty pastas with tomato ragu, game meats or bean chili.

Tinhorn Creek 'Oldfield Series' Cabernet Franc, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, stylish, balance.
A flagship variety for Tinhorn, they do well by it. This vintage it offers fresh red plum aromas with currants, roasted red bell peppers, licorice, toasted spice vanilla and dried herbs. It is a stylish wine with a smooth entry. Flavours of red fruit, bittersweet cocoa, spice and leather are underscored by a saline character. It has some textural tannic structure to lend it a chewiness and overall great balance.
Pair:hearty pastas with tomato ragu, game meats or bean chili.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Blue Cheese & Cracked Pepper
