Tinhorn Creek 'Oldfield Series' Syrah, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Notable, concentrated, complete.
Formerly the Oldfield Series the new nomenclature of this range is Oldfield Reserve, the label colour has also morphed to a warm taupe-brown (image not available). This Syrah was fermented with Viognier skins, using wild yeasts, and was aged for 18 months in French and Hungarian oak.
Spicy blackberry and warm plum compote notes evolve into rich chocolate, espresso-liqueur, iodine and cracked pepper. It has a palate that is complex and concentrated, slick and chocolaty, with savoury undertones of rare meat and spice rub. Impressive structure--a complete and noteworthy Syrah.
Pair:: BBQ ribs, smoked pork chops, grilled prime beef and aged goat's cheese.

Tinhorn Creek 'Oldfield Series' Syrah, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Chic, complex, layered.
Tinhorn Creek's Syrah is one of their stand out offerings.
Sweet wild berries, espresso, white pepper and toasted spices with leather and dried floral notes. It has an attractive juiciness and flavours of purple berries, dusty plums, and dark mocha. Expect very good complexity, layers of flavours and wonderful balance.

Tinhorn Creek 'Oldfield Series' Syrah, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Seductive, complex, fresh.
Tinhorn Creek's Syrah is consistently on-point. This vintage it rolls out seductive aromas of bumbleberry compote (a summer's bounty of blackberry, strawberry, blueberry and rhubarb), spice leather, wild herbs and finely ground white pepper. Fresh high-toned berry flavours mimic the nose; it is supple with impressive structure and culminates in a coffee, peppery and earthy finish.
A New World meets Old World style.
Pair:: BBQ ribs, smoked pork chops, grilled prime beef and aged goat's cheese.

Tinhorn Creek 'Oldield Reserve' Rose, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Structure, juicy, potent.
What used to be the Oldfield Series rose, is now named Oldfield Reserve rose.
Last year it came with a label redesign.
Salmony-copper in colour it offers aromas of blood orange peel, toasted five-spice and forest berries. It is zingy and powerful, potent and lengthy with juicy fruit buoying deep earthy flavours and charred orange peel. Impressive structure, a rose to stand up to hearty proteins, and good for holiday dinners.
Pair: Salmon, white meats, Dungeness crab on a croissant, turkey dinner, cheese and charcuterie, gourmet pizza... you name it.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Blue Cheese & Cracked Pepper

Tinhorn Creek 'Oldield Reserve' Rose, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Bouncy, refreshing, new.
What used to be the Oldfield Series rose, is now named Oldfield Reserve rose.
It comes with a new label look and the change (label and name) seems to include a few of the previously named Oldfield Series, although I'm not sure how many or which.
Made entirely from Cabernet Franc, Tinhorn Creek's rose is exceedingly refreshing with aromas of blood oranges, sarsaparilla, summer sweet berries and creamy nectarine notes atop notes of lilacs and roses. It has a kiss of sweetness, deftly offset by lively acidity. It boasts an intrinsic bounciness to the palate, which is further enhanced by its bright fruity finish.
Pair: Salmon, white meats, Dungeness crab on a croissant, cheese and charcuterie, gourmet pizza... you name it.
