Torres/Torres Family

Spain

Torres "Celeste' Crianza, Ribera del Duero, Spain
Readers rated this wine:
Rustic, muscular, bright.
This Tempranillo spent 12 months in French and American oak and is decidedly muscular. Earthy notes are woven with smoked meat, wild herbs and shrubbery, leather, bittersweet cocoa and lifted with dark plums and wild black berries. Expect good structure and brightness in the mouth; rustic and earthy, it has charred spices and dark cocoa flavours lingering on the palate.

Torres "Celeste' Pago Del Cielo Crianza, Ribera del Duero, Spain
Readers rated this wine:
Rustic, earthy, fragrant.
This Tempranillo was grown at 895MASL and spent 12 months in French and American oak.
Expect fragrant roasted cherry and sweet brown spices, licorice and vanilla, roasted coffee and wild brush aromas. The palate is less gregarious than the nose; dark fruits and leather, toasted spice and espresso flavours with distinct savoury undertones. Good balance and structure with a restrained and earthy character.

Torres '5G', Campo de Borja Spain
Readers rated this wine:
Decadent, juicy, plush.
5G stands for five generations starting in 1870 and five generation of seeking the perfect Garnacha. Kudos, it's one of my favourite red varieties. The 5G stands for the five (cinco) lots the grapes for this wine were selected from. It's a decadent nose, with notes of blueberries and vanilla, rich chocolate and cedar chips and violets lead to sweet herbaceous Chartreuse undertones. It has a similar digestif liqueur quality on the palate; unique and seductive. Fennel, tealeaf, and wild berry flavours bolster the palate. It is lengthy and fresh with a dried cherry finish.

Torres 'Sangre de Toro' Garnacha, spain
Readers rated this wine:
Smooth, spiced, approachable.
This well-known bottle with it's tiny plastic black bull glued to the capsule, houses a purple-hued wine with grapey aromas, dusty purple fruits, cocoa and savoury herbal tones. It is fruit-forward and smooth; licorice, cocoa, sweet spiced and vanilla flavours make for an easy-to-drink everyday red.

Torres Mas La Plana, Penedes, Spain
Readers rated this wine:
Enthralling, stunning, presidential. Mas La Plana is a 29-hectare vineyard in the heart of Penedes. The first vintage of this wine was 1970 and it is made from Cabernet Sauvignon.
A simply stunning red, which furnishes succulent aromas of smoked black cherries, plumcake, chocolate and warm spices, licorice and vanilla, with tomato leaf and oregano at the core. The palate is supple on the entry and then grows more textural mid-palate to finish. Incredibly well-woven and fresh despite having a few vintages under its belt. It is upstanding and presidential in character, with a lengthy finale.
