Zesty, tropical, citrusy.
SpearHead Winery is located in southeast Kelowna and their estate is composed of three main vineyard sites: the home estate in southeast Kelowna, the Golden Retreat Vineyard in Summerland, and the Coyote Vineyard in West Kelowna.
On their estate vineyard Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling are grown. Approximately 80% of their 15 acres of vines is comprised of Pinot Noir including four different Dijon clones, two California heritage clones and Pommard.
However the new Duel Citizen range is wines made in BC from grapes sourced from Washington State across the border. This Yakima Valley grown Sauvignon Blanc (a new variety for SpearHead) suggests tropical fruit, grapefruit and lime, green apple, snap peas and freshly mown lawn. It is zesty, on the lean side, and shows its 14% alcohol.
