From Feudo di Santa Tresa, this organic wine made from Sicily's indigenous red grape Nero d'Avola, is also very eco friendly. The label is made from 100% recycled paper, uses 100% vegetable ink to print and uses 100% recycled cardboard for shipping. Plus, Purato claims bragging rights to using 85% recycled glass in its bottles...
The wine is a charming pour with aromas of sweet raspberry tea and blueberry jam, vanilla and cola with peppery spices. The palate is smooth and attractively juicy with flavours that reflect the nose. Lovely balance of acidity here with cocoa and tobacco flavours tied to fine tannin on the finish.
A good everyday dinner wine for grilled vegetables, pasta or pizza.
