Frescobaldi Remole, Tuscany Italy
Readers rated this wine:

Frescobaldi has over 700 years of winemaking history - that's impressive, even for old world (European) producers.
This wine is consistently fabulous and the 2012 is no different. Expect a ruby red wine with notes of sweet cherry, ouzo, vanilla, pipe tobacco, rose petals, baking spices atop saddle leather. Smooth on the entry with a lovely, juicy yet supple character and flavours of red plums, cherry, spice and tobacco with licorice. Delicious and wonderfully priced with a fine textural component.
Pair: Mediterranean dishes, cured or grilled meats and tomato based sauces.

Hahn Winery Pinot Noir, Monterey California

Second review: Nov. 2016
An in-your-face Pinot with effusive aromas of cherry cola/sarsaparilla, violets and raspberry. The palate is smooth, fruity and spicy but offers good freshness and some smooth tannic structure.

Fragrant, supple, stylish.
The family owned and run Hahn winery was established in 1980 by Nicky and Gaby Hahn. Their Pinot Noir offers fragrant raspberry, a potpourri of cedar chips and violets, cherry, baking spice, leather, mocha and dried herbs. It is supple in the mouth with generous fruit layered with cedar, cocoa and floral to mimic the nose. Stylish and fresh with a ling spicy finish.
Pair: wild mushroom and roasted shallot risotto, plum glazed duck, squash ravioli or lam
