Mascota Vineyards 'La Mascota' Cabernet Sauvignon, Mendoza Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Brooding, muscular, supple.
Bordering on brooding, this extracted South American Cabernet doles out Ribena ad vanilla, chocolate-rich mocha, raspberry tea, leather, baking spices and vanilla with hints of pencil shavings. It has notable intensity and a supple weight, chewy yet silky tannins and oodles of generous fruit. It is hefty and muscular with an inky character.

Mascota Vineyards 'La Mascota' Malbec, Mendoza Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Structure, youthful, concentrated.
From one of the oldest regions of Mendoza, Cruz de Piedra, this powerful Malbec comes from Mascota's finest vineyard, La Mascota.
Black cherry, black raspberry, dark cocoa and black licorice aromas are layered with roasted herbs, cedar, dried rose petals and espresso. It is a slick wine with salty undertones defined by wild berries, dark chocolate, coffee, dried herbs and spice flavours. Notable concentration and structure here, some time will soften the tannins.

Mascota Vineyards 'Unanime' Gran Vino Tinto, Mendoza Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Complete, slick, fleshy.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Cabernet Franc from old vines in the Uco Valley; the wine was aged 20 months in French oak and is housed is a arm-ripper of a heavy bottle with a gorgeous label.
Expect aromas of smoked cherries, wild plums, vanilla, baking spices, mocha and balsamic. Supple weight, generous and fleshy fruit with good acidity to add levity. The palate is glycerol and slickly woven with a delightfully long and elegant finish. A complete wine with all the structure and balance in check.

Micel Torino 'Cuma' Organic Torrontes, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Perfumed, racy, pristine.

Argentina's perfumed white grape is woefully under marketed in our market, I'd love to see more. The Cuma (means pure and clean in the Aymara peoples language) offers fantastic value.
Dried flowers and apricot, star fruit, grapefruit, lime and chipped stone aromas lead to a bracing palate of lime and peach stone. Bright and quaffable, it has a snappy pristine finish.
Pair: stronger cheeses, smoked sausage or salami or spicy curries and stir-frys.

Michel Torino 'Cuma' Organic Torrontes, Cafayate Valley, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Pristine, perfumed, exotic.
Seriously fantastic value.
Argentina's white grape deserves much more attention than it's getting - it has such a lovely perfume. In this case, expect kaffir lime, ginger root, crisp white fruits, jasmine, grapefruit and a hint of white pepper. Crunchy and zesty on the palate with a long exotic spice and grapefruity finish.
Pair: stronger cheeses, smoked sausage or salami or spicy curries and stir-fry's.
