Cave St. Pierre Syrah, Chamoson, Valais, Switzerland
Readers rated this wine:
Refined, levity, fragrant.
This is certainly a conversation starter. If you've had a wine from Switzerland before, you're a small minority, mostly because their domestic market is so strong for their own wines, we rarely see them exported. This Syrah shows its cooler-clime in its freshness. Notes of black cherry syrup, red plums, licorice, sweetened coffee, savoury spices and oodles of ground white pepper lead to a supple medium-bodied wine with coffee and caramel, cocoa and fine spice (white pepper notably) flavours. Refined with good levity and length, overall. ©copyright 2019 Daenna Van Mulligen
