Steller's Jay Method Classique Gewurztraminer, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
New, aromatic, citrus.
Now a stand alone (no longer under the Sumac Ridge label) the Steller's Jay sparkling wines now come in a range, including this Gewurztraminer. It loses something in translation, sadly. The nose offers classic notes of lychee and rose petals, orange blossoms and lemon tea, alongside nectarine, pear and crisp gala apples. The palate has a kiss of sweetness, attractive mousse and plenty of citrus wrapped in dried pear and apples slices. It's a bit of a doughnut on the palate (hollow) however, and the finish is medium-length. Pairs great with Gone Crackers Parmesan & Rosemary ©copyright 2016 Daenna Van Mulligen
