Kono Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
Readers rated this wine:
Value, snappy, quaffable.
Serious value and seriously tasty, this snappy Savvy is made by New Zealand's first Maori owned winery, Tohu, which was established in 1998. In Maori, Tohu means sign or signature. In all, the company produces not only Tohu, Kono and Aronui wines, but farms Kono mussels and makes fruit bars and Tutu cider. They hold firm to the core value that love for the land and respect for the sea must be ever present; to prosper, the environment must be well and healthy, full of life and vitality.
The 2019 Kono is as lively as always; peach and crunchy green apples aromas are layered with elderflower, lime and snap peas. Quaffable and tangy and flavoured with gooseberry, citrus and passionfruit, this is a lip-smacking white that will put a smile on your face.
