Araldica 'Corsini' Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Silky, seamless, lovely.
Araldica is a third-generation, family-operated co-operative based in Piedmont. They work with over 230 Piedmont grower members and produce the high quality Piedmont wines from the most prestigious winegrowing DOC and DOCG regions including Barbera, Gavi, Langhe, Moscato, Barolo, Barbaresco, Monferrato and Roero.
Made entirely from hand-harvested Nebbiolo grapes harvested from around the town of Barbaresco (covering all three communes of Treiso, Neive and Barbaresco) the grapes are de-stemmed and then crushed into small fermenters, for around 12 days, with daily pumping-over. This ensures good colour and flavour extraction while avoiding over extraction of Nebbiolo's abundant tannins. After pressing, the wine was settled for two days, and then racked to Slovonian oak botte and barrique, where it was aged for 2 years followed by 6 months maturation in bottle before release.
Strawberries and cherries are layered with aromas of roses, vanilla, star anise and sweet spices. It's fresh but is showing woven flavours of dried strawberry, cigar and spice with dehydrated orange peel. Silky, sophisticated and seamless, it is a lovely wine. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen

Strawberries and smoked plummy aromas are layered with dried roses, vanilla, salted licorice, leather, wild herbs and espresso. Notable structure here, yet it shows liberal juicy red berry flavours longside dried tobacco and leather.
Silky, sophisticated and seamless, it is a lovely food wine. ©copyright 2023 Daenna Van Mulligen

Araldica 'GPG' Garganega~Pinot Grigio, Garda, Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Silky, seamless, lovely.

They work with over 230 Piedmont grower members and produce the high quality Piedmont wines from the most prestigious winegrowing DOC and DOCG regions including Barbera, Gavi, Langhe, Moscato, Barolo, Barbaresco, Monferrato and Roero.
This wine is produced from Garganega grapes grown in the Garda DOC region between Lake Garda and Vicenza, with the addition of 15% Pinot Grigio. It has a golden hue and aromas of honey and pine, candle wax and yellow apples, melon rind, honey and undertones of green almonds. It has a rich but fresh palate with similar yellow fruit, herbs, green almond and mineral flavours to mimic the nose. Good value; a solid weekday dinner white. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen
