Fabiano La Piazzola Valpolicella, Veneto Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Made from the regional varieties of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara this charming weekday red leads with smoked cherries and vanilla, some chocolate, plum and sweet spice and is rounded out with saddle leather and cigarbox notes. It is supple and very fresh - fllavours of bittersweet cocoa and spice are layered with juicy red fruit. Good substance, nice brightness.
Perfect for tomato pastas, medium-firm Italian cheeses and roasted meat.

Fabiano LeCoste Soave DOC Veneto Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Made primarily from Garganega and rounded out with Trebbiano di Soave (Veronese) and Chardonnay this is a fantastic wine, affordably priced and a great alternative to your typical white.
Expect beeswax and anise, vanilla and frangipani flowers, roasted nuts and marshmallow layered with Meyer lemons. It has a creamy lanolin texture with flavours of quince jelly and guava, juicy citrus and sweet spice with a good dose of mineral for added character.
Pair with fish, white meats and starters.

Marotti Campi 'Luzano' Verdicchio del Castelli di Jesi, DOC Morro d'Alba Marche Italy, 2011
Readers rated this wine:

Hailing from the Adriatic region of Marche on Italy's eastern coast, the Luzano has found it's way onto my annual TOP 100 list more than once.
It's a stylish and succulent wine with creamy aromas of stone fruit, marzipan, honeycomb and caramel atop mineral and savoury notes. That lush honey and nutty character reappears on the palate, it has a slick oily weight and texture and a long zesty finish.
Pair with fish, creamy pastas, white meat courses and appetizers.

Marotti Campi 'Orgiolo' Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Superiore DOC, Marche Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Captivating, unique, perfumed.
A captivating and truly unique wine made from a rare variety of mysterious origins. The production of this Lacrima variety is limited to the DOC Morro d'Alba, in the seaside province of Ancona in Marche.
Extremely perfumed with roses and lilacs, star anise, blueberry and raspberry atop mocha and vanilla. It has a seductively smooth entry before it grows more textural on the palate. It is redolent in summer berries, purple fruits, flowers and finally espresso. Excellent posture and intensity with good persistence.

Navarro Lopez 'Pergolas' Old Vines Tempranillo, Valdepenas Spain, 2009
Readers rated this wine:

Excellent Value!
Aromas of spicy cherries and red plum, smoked, leather and peppery notes and wrapped around an earthy core. The palate echoes the nose with similar earthy, smoky and spiced flavours layered with char and bittersweet chocolate. A supple wine that is perfect for weekday dinners of slow roasted meats, tomato-based sauces and medium-firm cheeses.
