Black Hills Estate Winery Viognier, Okanagan Valley BC, 2011
Readers rated this wine:

Just released!
The third vintage of the Black Hills Viognier is wonderfully fresh. It leads with crisp mineral notes (think fresh mountain stream), lemon and lime and follows up with still-crisp peach, musky honey and apricots with pretty wildflower notes. It has a slick texture with attractive weight and focused citrus, mineral and honey flavours. The finish is tangy and mouthwatering.
Pair with halibut, roast chicken or a thin-crust caramelized onion and soft blue cheese pizza.

Value, peppery, organic.

The vineyard for this wine is planted 1200 meters above sea level in Tupungato Valley and it comes from organically grown grapes. It's been a consistent player in our market for many years and provides solid value. The nose offers peppery notes with black cherries, black currents, vanilla, baking spices, tealeaf and leather. The palate echoes the nose with sweet spices, generous ripe purple berries, and dark chocolate flavours, which roll into silky tannins.
A red to pair with hearty pastas or red meats.

The organic vineyard for this wine hails from is 1200 meters above sea level in Tupungato Valley, Mendoza. Bousquet has been a consistent player in our market for many years and was organic long before it became consumer demand. It's a woven wine; wild berries, dusty plums, savoury spices and roasted herbs, dark cocoa and espresso aromas are echoed on the palate. Fleshy and fresh it's a solid go to weekday red for hearty pastas, BBQ or medium-firm cheeses.

Readers rated this wine:
Precise, racy, fcrunchy.
Specializing in small lot white wines (and a Syrah), Terravista Vineyards is a gem on the vibrant winemaking region anchored to Penticton called the Naramata Bench.
This blend of 63% Albarino and 37% Verdejo is only wine of these grapes produced in Canada. Grapes are grown at Terravista's home vineyard on the Naramata Bench at estate Lone Hand Ranch vineyard. Tough granitic soils of glacial origin characterize the vineyard.
It's a racy and verdant gulp with green apples, still crunchy peaches, wild flowers, grass clippings and lemongrass aromas. Cheek-sucking acidity describes the palate; mineral and citrus flavours dominate. Precise and lip-smacking it has a creamy edge and delicious weight on the tongue.
