Haywire 'Pink Bub' Sparkling, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fizzy, zesty, moussey.
Made from old vine Pinot Blanc with a splash of red wine for colour, the Pink Bub is a dry fizz made in the charmat method (both fermentations occurred in tanks). It was lees stirred for three months. It has a rose gold hue and notes of apple cider, watermelon peel, hops, white flowers and earth. Tangy and zesty on the palate its has flavours to mimic the nose and a moussey character.
New look, new label.

Haywire 'Switchback Vineyard' Pinot Gris, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Second Review: November 2021
Creamed corn and pears, quince and golden delicious apples, muddled lime and bread dough aromas lead to a leesy palate. Creamy yellow fruit, dandelion tea, wet stone and tangy lemon flavours are expressed on the palate. A slickly textured wine with bold acidity.

Textured, creamy, smoked.
This wine was naturally fermented and then aged concrete tanks for 8 months. Hickory smoked apples, creamed pears, wildflower honey and wild mushroom aromas translate to a palate of stony minerality, grilled citrus, bruised apples and tealeaf. Creamy and textured.

Haywire 'The Bub' Sparkling, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Complex, intense, sophisticated.
It's been four years since I last sampled this Pinot Noir and Chardy blended fizz from Haywire, and its profile has changed dramatically -- it's evolved from sassy to complex.
This vintage leads with warm apple turnovers, dried pears, roasted hazelnuts and a hint of smoke. The palate is tangy yet creamy with an undeniable leesy character. Overall, great intensity with a firm mousse and a long lemony finish.

Haywire Chardonnay, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Zesty, mouthwatering, slick.
This Chardonnay was whole bunch pressed then naturally fermented in concrete and then aged on lees.
Racy citrus and crunchy white fruit aromas meld with dried wildflowers and toasted hazelnut. The palate is nervy with flavours of smoked plums, brewer's yeast and lemon peel. The finish is mouthwatering.
New look, new label.

Haywire Gamay Rose, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Purity, dry, tart.
Made entirely from Gamay grapes (75% whole cluster pressed) fermented in small open top tanks with twice-daily punch-downs for four weeks.
It's an earthy red expressing tart red berries, orange peel, wet stone, cedar dust and plenty of wild herbal notes. The palate follows suit with tart red fruit, herbs and charred orange peel flavours. It's zesty with good purity and bold acidity.
