Penner~Ash Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, WA
Readers rated this wine:
Potent, plush, woven.
From under the umbrella of Jackson Family Wines, this plush Penner~Ash Pinot is an outstanding offering that doles out intense cherry and raspberry aromas woven with baking spices, leather, violets, cocoa, vanilla and at the core, faint forest floor notes. It is supple and suggests the same sweet potent berry found on the nose. It's a full-throttle Pinot with a supple character and trails sarsaparilla and cocoa across the finish.

Penner~Ash Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, WA
Readers rated this wine:
Posh, plush, woven.
From a region I'd love to see more of in our market, the posh Penner~Ash is an outstanding Pinot offering plush aromas of raspberry, leather, fine spices and a potpourri of cedar chips and dried flowers atop vague savoury tones. The palate is juicy and succulent with expressive fruit grounded with earthy forest floor/cedar and fine spice flavours.
Medium bodied and fresh it is woven and lengthy.

Penner~Ash Viognier, Willamette Valley, WA
Readers rated this wine:
Purity, freshness, exotic.
From under the umbrella of Jackson Family Wines, this fragrant Penner~Ash Viognier comes from the single Crater View Vineyard and was aged primarily in stainless steel with 8% in concrete egg.
Expect lemon curds and vanilla, stone fruits, honey, exotic spices, orange blossoms and a hint of marzipan. While ripe and weighty it also shows admirable purity. Spicy with ripe stone fruits, beeswax and resin flavours it has power and freshness and a lingering finish.

RockBare Riesling, Clare Valley, South Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Snappy, racy, mouthwatering
Plucked from South Australia’s Mount Lofty Ranges, this racy Watervale Riesling is made from grapes sourced from two Clare plots within the Slate Creek Vineyard; the region is famous for its floral and spirited Rieslings. Rockbare is a partnership between the Jackson family (owner of Kendall-Jackson, La Crema among dozens more wineries) of California and the Valmorbida family of Melbourne. This label depicts a diprotodon (giant wombat), an ancient muscular quadrupedal marsupial who roamed the region some 1.6 million years ago (who knew?) that has fortunately (I should think) shrunk considerably to its current size.

This 2018 has precise aromas of lime and green apples, white peach and orchard blossoms, honey and lemon drops. Crunchy fruit, citrus and mineral flavours dominate the palate; the finish has a razor sharp and mouthwatering snap of lime
