El Esteco 'Finca Notables' Tannat, Cafayate, Salta, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Elegant, harmonious, fragrant.
This mature Tannat is made from vines in the Finca Las Mercedes (plot 28) vineyard 1700MASL in the Calchaqui Valley in Salta's Cafayate, a region known for its high sun exposure, low humidity and broad thermal amplitude. It was aged in French oak for 15 months prior to bottling and six months in bottle post. Black raspberry, violets and roses, cedar chips, sweet spices and dark chocolate aromas lead to a supple palate boasting sweet fruit, spice, earth, cocoa and tobacco flavours. Seductive yet powerful, with impressive levity, harmony and persistence.
