El Esteco 'Blend de Extremos' Malbec~Malbec, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Extracted, toasted youthful.

This Malbec is made from vines planted in at 1700MASL in the Calchaqui Valley in Salta's Cafayate, and from plantings at 2000MASL in Chanar Punco, Catamarca; regions known for high sun exposure, low humidity and broad thermal amplitude. 25% is French barrel aged and the rest aged in stainless steel for 12 months.
Expect toasted oak and red berries, espresso and roasted nuts, bacon fat, tasted spices and dried herbal aromas. It's an extracted wine with dark mocha and tobacco, toasted herbs and spice flavours. Still tight and youthful.
Pair with hard cheeses, BBQ, heart soups and roasts.
