Plush, generous, harmonious.

The Falcon is Robin Ridge's premium Merlot with plush aromas of kirsch and vanilla, blackberry, damson plums and chocolate. The palate is just as generous as the nose; a symphony of vanilla, mocha, plump cherries and pencil shavings. Truly harmonious and satisfying.

Robin Ridge 'Frigate' Meritage, Similkameen Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Woven, fresh, persistent.
This small production Similkameen Valley winery is owned by Tim and Caroline Cottrill, who make wine using organic estate fruit.
The Frigate is Robin Ridge's Meritage, a blend of 48% Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
It's a ripe red and weighs in at 15% alc, but the fruit hides it well.
Notes of dried cherries, pipe tobacco, star anise and dried violets, baking spices and coffee result in a palate that is full-bodied and reminiscent of plum pudding, vanilla and warm brown spice flavours with carob undertones. It's nicely woven and fresh with a long finish trailing tobacco.

Robin Ridge 'PNG', Similkameen Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, distinct, earthy.
This small production Similkameen Valley winery is owned by Tim and Caroline Cottrill, who make wine using organic estate fruit.
Here is a new release, a blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay that has a distinct earthy character. Pomegranate and cherry, tealeaf and cedar, pipe tobacco and vanilla liqueur aromas lead to an earthy palate with flavours of small wild berries, rainforest floor, fine spice and tealeaf. Overall good freshness and structure here but a little more cellar time should soften it's edges a bit.
