Painted Rock

British Columbia

Painted Rock Malbec, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
NEW, impressive, decadent.
This second edition single varietal release Malbec is as impressive as its predecessor; yet different. It is more savoury this vintage; black raspberries and bruised cherry aromas are layered with dried hers, smoked meat and vanilla. It is slick and substantial, rich and elegant; expect flavours of brown spices, espresso, dark chocolate and dusty plums culminating in a licorice flavoured finish.

Painted Rock Malbec, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
NEW, impressive, decadent.
This inaugural single varietal release Malbec is more than impressive; it may be the best Malbec coming out of the province right now. It is seductively scented with black raspberry, blackberry and mocha, pipe tobacco and brown spices and fine white pepper atop a plummy core. Supple, decadent and simply potent on the palate, it has a glycerol texture and long slick finish.
Available to wine club members only.

Painted Rock Malbec, Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Intense, inky, supple.
The 2017 season provided small concentrated berries and limited amounts of this Malbec was created.
High-toned purple fruits and floral aromas are layered with vanilla, licorice, toasted spices and savoury spices, dried plum and pipe tobacco. It is a powerful wine with sweet fruit and a supple weight; succulent and intense, inky and potent it trails flavours of fresh berries, dark mocha, spice and earthy/mineral notes. The finish is long and textured.

Painted Rock Merlot, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Painted Rock's estate grown Merlot was aged 18 months in 50% new French oak.

It has a somewhat brooding character with perceptible intensity. On the nose you can expect roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, black cherries, black plums, vanilla, floral undertones with sweet spice. The palate is rich, earthy and dark with layers of mocha, pipe tobacco and toasted brown spices. It is supple on the tongue with ripe but youthful and still firm tannins. A sumptuous wine that will benefit from decanting now or alternatively hold for a few more years in the cellar.
