Araldica 'Il Meridone' Catarratto, Sicily, Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Creamy, fresh, value.
Araldica is a third-generation, family-operated co-operative based in Piedmont. They work with over 230 Piedmont grower members and produce the high quality Piedmont wines from the most prestigious winegrowing regions but they also make wines in a number of other Italian regions, such as this one from Sicily.
Made entirely from Catarratto sourced from the Marsala area on the west coast of Sicily, and from hillside vineyards near Alcamo, this wine was bottled fresh, after a short period of aging on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks.
Wild flowers, beeswax, lemon peel and pineapple aromas roll onto a palate with creamy yellow fruits and lemongrass flavours. It has an oily texture and nice concentration, dry and lively it a slam dunk in the good bang-for-your-buck category.

Aromas of wild flowers, pomelo, yellow apples and starfruit, acacia and honey lead to a palate that is dry and creamy. Lemon oil and mineral, lemon oil and resin flavours dominate; the finish is zesty.
A good bang-for-your-buck white.

A pretty light rose gold pink, this Barbera with 20% Pinot Noir suggests sweet wild red berries and cantaloupe dried roses, orange peel and faint spice. It is slick and juicy with notable purity and flavours of fine spice and red fruit. Another slam dunk in Araldica's good bang-for-your-buck category.

A pretty light pink, this Barbera with 20% Pinot Noir, suggests tangy cranberry orange peel and cherry notes lightly sprinkled with spice. Dry and tangy, it has lifted red fruit and herbal flavours on the palate. It smacks of freshness and offers great value in every sip; another slam dunk in Araldica's good bang-for-your-buck category.

Expect aromas of warm cherries and vanilla, espresso and dried roses and exotic spice notes. It has lovely freshness and balance, is medium+ bodied with spice, cherry and cedar flavours. A nice seamless wine.
