Las Moras

Argentina

Finca Las Moras 'Paz' Malbec, San Juan Cuyo, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Silky, woven, harmonious.
From the Pedernal Valley in San Juan in Mendoza province, this wine comes from vines grown at 1350m above sea level, it's been a few vintages since I've had this wine, and it's still as wonderful as ever.
The nose is fresh and scented with liberal black current, pipe tobacco, chocolate, toasted spices and vanilla. Like the nose the palate is velvety. It has a silky entry and lively purple fruit flavours underscored by spice. Woven and harmonious with a chocolaty finish. Pair: Grilled meats and sausages, wild mushroom ravioli, hard cheeses.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Parmesan & Rosemary

Supple, opulent, modern.

Sunwarmed and juicy purple berries are woven with aromas of mocha, licorice, white pepper dried herbs and violets. Supple in texture with generous fruit, and a concentrated and silky liqueur-like palate. An opulent wine with good value. Pair: Grilled meats and sausages, wild mushroom ravioli, hard cheeses.

Readers rated this wine:
Chocolaty, refined, modern.
From the Pedernal Valley in San Juan in Mendoza province, this wine comes from vines grown at 1350m above sea level.
It's a modern style with licorice pastilles, oodles of warm chocolaty aromas, cherries and blackberry jam with violets and vanilla. The palate ascends to ripe blackberry, chocolate and spice. Quite refined, lovely acidity to add levity and finally some textural tannins to add chew. Pair: Grilled meats and sausages, wild mushroom ravioli, hard cheeses.

Finca Las Moras Reserva Tannat, San Juan Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Intense, outstanding, value.
Outstanding offering, an approachable young Tannat, which seems to really shine in South America. The aromas here are blueberries and cassis, liquid mocha and dried violets with baking spices and roasted herbs. It is intense (as the variety is known for) but shows great balance. It is grounded and earthy but lifted by notable acidity. It has a toasty, spice and espresso flavoured finish. The tannins are present, but powdery.
