La Closerie des Lys

Languedoc-Roussillon
Pays d'Oc

Chateau d'Antugnac 'La Closerie des Lys 'Les Fruitieres', France
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, earthy, juicy.
Here's a value pink, born in the Languedoc and made of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Merlot.
It's a stained white with fresh notes of cherry, crab apples, orange blossoms, garrigue, cedar and faint spice. On the palate marzipan takes the lead and is layered with strawberry, peach slices and honey. It has a kiss of sweetness and is entirely quaffable. A mouthwatering sipper or pair with grilled fish or medium cheeses, hearty summer salads and chicken or turkey dinners.

Value, earthy, dry.
Here's a value pink, born in the Languedoc and made of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrha and Merlot. It's a pale rusty-salmon colour and offers sour cherry muddled with apricot, cedar, tangerine and smoked herbs and fine peppery spices. It is done dry with good freshness and hinting at orange bitters, herbs and smoked paprika flavours on the palate; the texture is silky.
Pair with grilled fish or medium cheeses, hearty summer salads and chicken or turkey dinners.

Here's a value pink, born in the Languedoc and made of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrha and Merlot. It's a pale rusty-salmon colour that suggests cedar and tealeaf, rhubarb, kumquats, powdery brown spices, red currents and crunchy red plum aromas. It's a gastronomic wine; juicy and straightforward, earthy and bone dry.

Chateau d'Antugnac 'La Closerie des Lys Chardonnay, France
Readers rated this wine:
Delicate, fresh, crisp.
In 1997, school friends the Collovrays and the Terriers began a new adventure by purchasing Chateau d'Antugnac in the Haute Valleee de l'Aude, in the Pyrenees; one of the Languedoc's best regions. Here the terroir makes for fresh wines, while the expertise of the fourth-generation winemakers ensures elegance and finesse.
It comes from 15-year-old vines grown on high elevation clay-limestone soils.
A shy nose of golden fruit and honey, citrus and mineral result in a similarly delicate palate of crisp tree fruits, mineral and citrus. It's primarily fresh, but has a creamy edge and lemony finish. A straightforward but fine everyday white for fish, white meats, creamy sauces.

Charming, juicy, harmonious.
Hailing from Languedoc this fragrant Pinot Noir doles out sweet red cherries, botanical, vanilla, star anise, cedar and forest floor aromas. It is earthy, smooth, light-bodied and approachable, harmonious and classically styled. Flavours of red berry tea trail across the finish.
