Chateau St Jean Pinot Noir, California
Readers rated this wine:
Stylish, consistent, delightful.
The Chateau St. Jean is always a delightful example of Sonoma Pinot Noir -- solid, fruit-driven and consistent. The core is typically earthy with spice, cocoa, wild botanical notes, tealeaf and carrot tops with attractive black raspberry and cherry fruits. Silky texture, expressive fruit with good balance - it's a ripe California style but boasts bright acidity.
Stylish.

Readers rated this wine:
Fragrant, approachable, expressive.
Very fragrant aromas of sweet cherries, raspberry, vanilla, sarsaparilla, white pepper and perfume of violets. It has a silky palate, very expressive and plump fruit, sweet yet tangy, fresh and spicy with hints of tealeaf. Modern and approachable with good persistence.

Chateau St. Jean Cabernet Sauvignon, California
Readers rated this wine:
Classic, balanced, fragrant.
Chateau St. Jean was a family winery established in 1973 in Sonoma. Made to be an acsessible red, this one was blended from sites on the North and Central Coasts and it was aged in French and American oak for 8 months before bottling.
Plum pudding and cassis, dark chocolate and espresso, toasted spice and pencil shavings are lifted with a whiff of mint. Supple on the entry it delivers generous purple fruit, savoury spices, leather, vanilla and mint flavours. Good posture ad balance but also very approachable.

Chateau St. Jean Pinot Noir, Sonoma County California, 2009
Readers rated this wine:

This delicious Chateau St. Jean Pinot is entirely satisfying.
It has classic Pinot Noir character with juicy New World fruit.
Expect aromas of black cherry, raspberry, cedarbox and crushed purple flowers atop forest floor and wild herbs. The palate is silky and tastes like sunshine warmed berries, juicy cherries and sweet spice. It has a lengthy finish and will pair well with duck, wild mushroom ragout or harvest dishes of roasted beets, yam and squash.
