Spier 'Signature Collection' Chenin Blanc, Stellenbosch South Africa
Readers rated this wine:
Consistent, creamy, fresh.
I've long been a fan of South Africa's Chenin Blancs - they come in many guises and the Spier is a great starting point - it's equally affordable and tasty.
I've been reviewing this wine for a decade and its consistency is notable.
The 2019 delivers transparent aromas of yellow apple, honey, grapefruit and wildflowers with just a hint of its minimal oak fermentation (5%). Influenced by juicy tree fruits, lemongrass and citrus flavours, the palate has a lively character and slightly creamy texture, and at this price it's a buy-by-the-case.
Pair: Fish, spicy cuisines, white meats, summer salads and soft cheeses.
Pairs Great with Gone Crackers Roasted Shallot & Herb

Spier 'Signature Collection' Pinotage, Stellenbosch Western Cape, South Africa
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, value, smooth.
Tangy red tree fruits and strawberry, iodine, spice, dark cocoa and espresso aromas lead to a fresh red with savoury and umami flavours seasoned with white pepper and charred spice. It's a fresh and approachable everyday red.

Spier 'Signature' Chenin Blanc, Stellenbosch South Africa
Readers rated this wine:

I'm a big fan of South African Chenin - there are many styles and options and the Spier is a great starting point - it's affordable, fresh and tasty.
Zesty notes of citrus, white blossoms and grass are rounded out with guava, white peach and young pineapple. The palate is mouthwatering and nicely weighted with nectarine, tropical fruit, citrus and snap peas. Clean and crisp but with an appealing texture too.

I've been reviewing this wine for a decade and consistency is key. Golden in colour it offers aromas of yellow apples, honey, grapefruit and exotic flowers. It is concentrated and juicy, has a kiss of sweetness and slick creamy texture, there is a presence of oak and spice carved out with bright lemony flavours.
Pair: Fish, spicy cuisines, white meats, summer salads and soft cheeses.

Fresh, value, smooth.
A BC Liquor Stores select product, this value Merlot offers spicy blackberry, black plums, dark chocolate, vanilla, braised strawberries, espresso and iodine aromas. The entry is fresh, plummy spice and cocoa flavours dominate the palate and it has a medium-bodied smooth weight.
