Savoury, pensive, toasted.
Border Vines is Moon Curser's Meritage or Bordeaux cuvee, which is made mostly of Cabernet Sauvignon that's blended with Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Carmenere and Petit Verdot.
Always fragrant, the 2021 Border Vines delivers juicy red fruit notes with black cherry and toasted spice, salted licorice, vanilla, cedar and dried flowers. Black chocolate and espresso and charred spice flavours appear in the mouth. It's a pensive wine, quite restrained and savoury, but with notable freshness.

Moon Curser 'Border Vines' Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fragrant, textural, toasted.
The Border Vines is Moon Curser's Meritage or Bordeaux cuvee: Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Carmenere and Petit Verdot.
A fragrant blend of purple berries, sarsaparilla, dried cherries and vanillin oak that rolls onto a tightly wound palate with purple fruit, concord grapes and spice flavours. Textural and heavy on the oak, it culminates in charred toasty flavours of coffee bean and dark carob.
Decant before serving and pair with grilled meat, hearty bean stews or aged, hard cheeses.

Moon Curser 'Border Vines' Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Exceptional, complex, juicy.
The Border Vines is Moon Curser's Meritage or Bordeaux blend - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Carmenere, Malbec & Petit Verdot.
An exceptional wine, laden with blackberries, plums, vanilla and licorice atop warm spices and savoury wild herbs at the core. It is fresh and vibrant on the palate; expressive purple fruit is melded with fine textural tannins and the finish is long, supple and spicy.
Pair with grilled meat, hearty lentil stews, or aged hard cheeses.

Readers rated this wine:
Savoury, brooding, spicy.
The Border Vines is Moon Curser's Meritage or Bordeaux blend - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Carmenere, Malbec & Petit Verdot.
It always has a very savoury character and this 2015 is no exception. It poses aromas of sage and sweet plums, bittersweet chocolate and red currents, tobacco, bacon fat, and mixed spices. The palate mirrors the nose; muddles chocolate, fleur de sel, spice and wild berries lead to a meaty finish.
Decant before serving and pair with grilled meat, hearty lentil stews or aged, hard cheeses.

Moon Curser 'Confiscated' Rose, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Dry, bold, new.
Osoyoos-based estate winery Moon Curser makes a wide range of wines, many from varieties rare to Canada.
Their new limited series "Confiscated" are wines made from grapes grown in Lake Chelan, Washington, just two hours south of Osoyoos. Like many in the Okanagan (a January '24 freeze event caused an extremely small harvest in the region) the winery felt the need to supplement their 2024 harvest from south of the border.
Estimated release, late summer 2025 this serious watermelon-pink Pinot Noir suggests fresh wild berries and rhubarb, sour cherry juice, cedar, tealeaf and dried orange slices. It's dry with a bold structure and flavours of wild herbs, cigar and faint spice layered with charred oranges and leather. A fresh rose that drinks like a light-bodied red.
